Longhorn Cavern State Park

There is a great little Grill / Snack Bar located just inside the visitor center at Longhorn Cavern State Park.   Don’t let the size of this little restaurant fool you.  Some pretty big events and dinners have come out of this kitchen.

A full lunch menu is offered daily, with choices from hamburgers, hotdogs and such to the daily lunch specials that change from week to week.

On Sundays a lunch buffet is offered with a different menu every week.  This awesome meal is a collaborative effort by park employees who do all the cooking and use old family recipes.  Make it a date to come by and have a taste.

While enjoying a meal, be sure to look at all the photos hanging on the wall of the boyish faces of the CCC workers in a series of vintage photographs. Also, check out the large fireplace hearth that reaches to the ceiling and fans out in a band around the top of the room’s wall.
