The
Exhibit Center is located on the grounds
of the Longhorn Cavern State Park. Inside you will discover
the rich history behind the cavern and how the Civilian
Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930's helped American's out of
the depression by starting a work force and employing men
to preserve this natural resource.
The CCC actually built the building itself. It is made of stone and wood found in the
area. Take a walk back in time as you walk through this micro museum. You'll find pictures through out that outline the modern history of the Longhorn Cavern State Park. This is a definite prelude to the cave tour itself. Once inside the cave you can imagine the workers as they discovered for themselves the very first time this wonder which we know as Longhorn Cavern State Park.
